Burlap and Lace Fall Mantle

One of my good friends asked me to decorate her mantle for Fall. So, with some crafting and some refurbishing of consignment finds, and a few new things, we created a lovely design on a budget for her beautiful mantle!

I didn't get many photos, of the crafting and different items, but some of the things I made were:
The bulap love picture. I covered a canvas with burlap and stenciled LOVE onto it.
The burlap bunting, I sewed and stenciled each piece.
I also used glass paint to paint the inside of the mason jars. I then hot glued lace around then and tied the hemp, and hot glued a flower.
The family sign was a mirror from the consignment shop, I repainted the gold frame, and painted the glass with chalkboard paint and then stenciled FAMILY onto it.
I bought the straw wreath and hot gluehe flowers onto it!

I thought we had a great turnout! :)
Happy Decorating and Happy Fall!

Painting the House

One of the recent projects was painting the house. We have aluminum siding, and it was a lovely (not) peach color, with lovely (not) maroon shutters. :) The siding was still in good condition, so we thought to save a couple bucks we would paint it.

Here is the house before the project started:

(We put that fence up when we moved in. And painted it white. I got my while picket fence!)

Up Close view of the door. We also painted this to match the new shutters to come!

We removed all the shutters.

And began to paint. We did it the by hand way. We used a roller, ladder, and paint brush. It took some work, but we were really not into the paint sprayer. We rented a paint sprayer when we painted the fence and we went through so much paint it was crazy! So, by hand it was! Took a while, but well worth it!

We thought this color was going to be more gray, but turns out it has a slightly green tint. We actually painted the door teal, thinking the house would be gray, and the shutters blackish brown. But when the house started turning green, we had to repaint the door the same blackish brown because the teal door DID NOT GO! :)

 New Door Color!

We will upload the colors and paints we used.

So have you ever painted your house? How did it go? What colors did you use?

 We'll be Back soon!!

Have a good day!

Body Art :)

My kiddos are crazy about face paint. They love to get their face painted at any circus, carnival, fair, birthday party, or anywhere! Then, once they get their face painted, they are so sad when we have to come home and take a bath, and it all washes off. So, I thought, why don't we just paint our faces ourselves! And face painting turned into hand paints, and foot paints and anywhere else we could find! They loved to get their body painted!! Pick up some face paint from the craft store and have a fun day of painting!

Ahoy! It's a Boy!

My mom and I decided to have a baby shower for The Boy. Because I have three girls, I don't have anything boy gender. She asked if I wanted it to be a surprise, but because I love doing parties I definitely wanted to have a hand in it!

We decided to go with a Nautical theme for the baby shower.

Here are some of the Party favors. We made all the labels on the Cricut using the Life's a Beach cartridge. We filled the gummy bag with gummy sharks, and Swedish fish. The pretzel rods were dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with red and white sprinkles.

We made the Banner with the Cricut also!

The white plastic forks and knives we wrapped in blue napkins and tied a mint around them with hemp. We also made paper boats (thanks to my hubby for knowing how!!) and put a skewer with a flag on it, and mints inside!

Peanut enjoying cake, and the present table and a glimpse of my belly :)

I'll be back later with more pictures of the cake and other things!
Have a great day!

Stir Fry Lunch

While I'm eating lunch, I thought I might as well show you what I made! Thanks to the Blogger app I can do that :)

Quick, easy, Gluten-free and vegetarian!

Stir-fry bowel of stuff!!

First I put butter in a pan, and cut up a few pieces of onion. I let that cook for a minute, then I added carrots, pea pods, and broccoli. I let that cook for a minute or two stirring constantly with a rubber spatula. When the veggies were kinda tender, I pushed them to the side in the pan, and cracked and egg. I fried the egg and broke it all up into pieces. I then mixed it all together, and poured in the rice I had premade in the fridge. (I try to keep rice made at all times, being Gluten-Free it makes life easier)I then added a little more butter, a couple shakes of rice vinegar, a sprinkle of brown sugar, and cooked it all together. Add salt and pepper to taste! YUM!!
I didn't keep an measurements, I just throw things together for lunch, and decided, "yum, this is good, I'll blog about it!" :)

Have a great day!

Easy, Gluten free, Vegan lunch!

So quickly I thought I'd do a little post on my lunch today because it was so delicious and easy!

Gluten Free Quinoa pasta with earth balance butter (it's dairy free) and a little salt and pepper. Paired up with a Tomato and Avacado salad. I did add cucumber to the salad, but realized I had cucumbers after I took the picture and starting eating it, so it just wasn't as pretty to photograph anymore :)

YUM!!

Here is the pasta I use! So good!!

Have a great Day!!

Homeschooling

We sent Cinderella to kindergarden in September of 2012. It didn't go very well. So, for quite a few reasons we decided to Homeschool. So far we are loving it. We really feel like Cinderella is doing great and we will continue to homeschool her and the other children for now :)

So, along this journey of a Blog, I will be posting things that we do for Homeschool also!

Like this project...

Shaving cream fun!

I starting Homeschooling with a lot of De-Schooling, just to get Cinderella out of the mode of getting up, going to school, and sitting in a classroom for hours. She was having a hard time emotionally with public school, and some of these activities really helped the transition.

Besides silly faces, they also practiced writing their names, letters and shapes!

They used their fingers and hands and also Q-tips!

Have a great Day!

Peanut's 1st Birthday

Our little Peanut turned one in April 2012 :) To celebrate we had a Rainbow Party.

We made a Balloon arch. It was supposed to be a rainbow, but hubby didn't quite understand the directions I gave :)

We had rainbow cake with rainbow #1's made with the Cricut!

I used 6 box cakes (thanks Dunkin Hines) and food coloring gel (Wilton brand), I put white vanilla icing in between each layer and the same icing on top!

Yum!

Present time!

We had giant Rainbow lollipops for everyone!

The kids ran around the yard, played in sand, and made crazy balloons!

Everyone had fun!

Here's the birthday banner I made. Also with the Cricut.

There you have it, Rainbow first birthday!

Have a great day!

Hello Friends!

I wanted to put a small post with a "more" recent family photo. I say more recent because it's from Christmas. I don't have one of all 6 of us more recent. Yes all 6!! Since my last post on this blog there were only 4 of us. So, we have a lot of catching up to do. There were a lot of events and fun things going on!

Here we all are:
From left to right, The Boy(4th child), Me, Cinderella (1st child), Strawberry Shortcake (2nd child), Peanut (3rd child), and my wonderful Hubby!
(The older two picked their internet names themselves! hehe)

Have a great day!

Hello! From the other blog.

This was a post I posted back in 2012, on my other blog :) this will help with the updating process!

Good Morning Friends!

I have been inspired to create this blog. One, because I stay home with my 3 children and one in the oven until August 2012, and need something to do with myself to feel productive. And two I wanted to organize my thoughts and my life. I thought if I could create a journal of my thoughts, ideas, inspirations and projects maybe I could become a little more organized. So, instead of writing everything down on a piece of paper and loosing it somewhere, amongst all the chaos it will stay neatly on the web, and maybe someone will enjoy reading about the crazy life our house lives! :)

Today, we will be finding out the gender of our Baking Bun!! We are keeping fingers, toes, and anything else crossed for a little Boy. We have three wonderful girls, and would love a boy, but of course, healthy is first and foremost! I will be back later with an update!!
